Weekly update January 14th

Hey there everyone! Praying that you had a great week!

This is Thursday, we made it to Honduras yesterday, not without it's drama! We were scheduled to fly in on Tuesday. We left for the airport at 4:30 am, thank you to Riley who always gets up early to take us! Got checked in, got on the airplane, we were told since there was snow on the airplane, we had to go get de-iced, ok, that's neat.... then we waited, and waited, and then were told that departure was delayed for an hour because of the weather conditions in Atlanta.... we had 40 minutes between arrival and our connecting flight... so I'm hoping that they would delay the flight to Honduras a little too because of the weather... the flight attendants came around with snacks to help us pass the time and take our minds off the delay. Then they announced that they had stopped all of the incoming flights to Atlanta and had even evacuated the towers! We were going back to the

airport to deplane. Well by then I figured we were in trouble with our connection to Honduras and we were. (They booked us on the first flight to

Atlanta the next morning, 6:00am flight, leave home at 3:30am). We sent out a call to the kids for a ride back home, Chad and Hannah dropped what they were

doing and came to the airport to pick us up. Since we'd cleaned out the refrigerator before we left (for 10 weeks), we had nothing to

eat at home, we enjoyed a nice lunch with Chad and Hannah and made sure we had leftovers for the evening. Trying to sleep, adrenaline running

wild, sleep didn't come easy. I was still awake at 10:00pm when I got a message from Delta that they had changed our morning flight to one 2.5

hours later...which meant we would miss our connecting to Honduras! I called Delta, and got a message stating there was an unusually high

volume of calls, my wait time was at least 70 minutes! I started a chat and actually got someone to talk to me. After an hour and a half, we ended up being booked on United, going through Houston, Texas! We had a plan!

We had a rush job to do before the weekend, we stopped on the way home from the airport and looked at the project, made lists for materials and tools, and we're ready to repair a carport ceiling and some soffit. Nice to be busy! Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we got up early and returned late, an hour and fifteen-minute drive one way to the jobsite. They are having a birthday party for their one-year-old daughter! A special day!

The crew is learning some new skills, love it when a plan comes together! Finishing drywall and doing some electrical work! Back at it again

tomorrow, picking the crew up at 6 am.

The days kind of ran together this week, we've been working hard and it feels great! Just got home from church a little while ago, God is so very

good! Pay close attention to the last slide!

Thank you for your prayers! We are praying for you too! Blessings, John and Tammy
