Hi everyone! It's hard to believe that it's Thursday already! What a busy week!
We took Nikki and family to the airport last night, their flight was scheduled to leave at 10:55pm, then was delayed until 2:30am! What
a long night! They have arrived in USA as of 6:30 this morning... they still have to go from Houston to New York and then back to
Cincinatti! They are going to want a nap! I am getting a late start writing this, we'll see how good (or bad lol) my memory is.
Monday found us back in La Ceiba, working on a surprise for Najae, getting ready to pour a concrete pad for the water tanks, putting
in the carport beam, adding some channel to the kitchen beam to match some of the existing architecture, cut a hole in the stairwell
for a window to let in some light... we kept busy!
In June 9's update, I shared a very touching experience I had at the local dump. This week on Wednesday we were able to go do
something about what I'd seen.
Tuesday found some of us heading back to Omoa, stopped at a discount grocery store to pick up items we were going to hand out Wednesday morning at the dump. Spent some time putting the food bags together. Rice, beans, apples, cookies, water. Wednesday morning, we picked up pastor Brayan and headed for the dump. I understand every town or community has a dump, where some really poor people live. We went to help them with a little food, prayed for them, showed them the love of Jesus! It was very touching, amazing how the word travels, we had people walking towards us from all directions! We were told that 80 families live around the dump area, scavenging for whatever they can find that's useful or that they may be able to sell! A very touching event that you have to experience in order to understand just how much some people don't have. Words can't describe the emotions, the blessing that we think we're giving, God is giving back to us tenfold! When you see the smiles on their faces after receiving a food bag, the smile on a little girl as she eats an apple, the tears in their eyes after prayer, puts a whole new look on our calling and a priority change to love and to serve! If you feel lead to come and serve let us know, if you feel lead to give, Jerry has a new QR code that I'll put in the pictures, you can donate to your hearts content! Mathew 25:40 "And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you
were doing it to me!'
We were able to put our name on the bus we wanted! When the guy selling it found out exactly who we were, he waived the interest
on the balance (he is financing it for us)! Gave us a very good deal! Praise the Lord!! He was born in Honduras, lives in South Bend,
Indiana. Comes to Honduras several times a year. Told us if we ever needed anything to let him know! God continues to go before us!
We did find out that the bus is a little big for our street. We have to be careful when turning the corners and we're going to need to trim
some of the low hanging branches! Can't wait to use it! Thank you again Lord!!
The instagram link I've attached to the bottom is of the short picture montage that Ashley has been doing for us weekly. For those who
don't do social media, click on it to see a brief weekly recap set to music! It is usually posted to facebook and instagram.
Next week is back to normal, as normal as normal can be here . Hoping to get the kitchen cupboards ordered, block for the
upstairs rooms ordered and start laying the walls and pouring the concrete slab for the water tanks. We'll be busy!
Thank you all for your prayers and support! If you have any questions let us know, we're happy to talk to you about what we're doing
here! Praying for you!
Blessings, John and Tammy
