Weekly Update March 3rd

My goodness, March already!

Monday found us at Darwyn's mother's house where Dr. Dave adjusted another group of very appreciative people! The

view from Elvira's back patio is very pretty, overlooking the southern part of Tegucigalpa and the mountains lined with

houses! Later in the afternoon we went to Ojojona, a small little colony close to where Darwyn lives and explored the area.

There's a really neat tree there, one that every young person dreams of playing in! We managed to climb in it a little for a

photo op. We met another missionary there, from Nicaragua, a neat family! Everywhere we went and stopped for a while,

Dr. adjusted people!

Tuesday we were on the road back to Omoa. We stopped in San Martin on the way and adjusted Ana's mom, brother and a neighbor!  And also stopped in Ocotillo to see pastor Hever and his family, adjusted them too! We relaxed the rest of the day in Omoa by hanging out, doing some swimming in the Caribbean, Dr. Dave tossing the kids around in the sea... a fun evening!

Wednesday, we adjusted in the gazebo by the beach in the morning, afternoon and evening (evening was inside away from the mosquitos)! Ate dinner at La Plaza. Had a planning meeting on what the next steps will be with the chiropractic

teams that Dr. Dave is going to be bringing to Honduras!! Tammy has started a Facebook page, "His hands chiropractic missions." One of the neat things that happened with the adjustments was that they all wanted to know when Dr. was coming back! They wanted to see him again and bring their friends and relatives! We then got ready for a 3:30 am departure for the airport to take Dr. Dave back to the USA!

Once again, what a blessing to see the people get an adjustment for the very first time, being able to relieve the stress and pain in their neck and back, seeing how far their hips were out of adjustment before and then in line afterwards was so very rewarding! The excitement and smiles they wore were such an inspiration! God is so very good! Thank you, Lord, for your gifts and for loving hearts to share them!

Thursday was a long day. Awake at 2:30am, on the road by 3:30am headed to the airport. After we returned I tried to nap, notice I said "tried", didn't work out so well. My mind was racing, the guys were working, Dany found out his rash was most likely cement poisoning, so we needed to change his work schedule for a while. Which works out well for now because we need to get the cage for the truck assembled and ready to go. Dany is working on that, and since assembly is in my head, I needed to help him.  No nap. And then in the evening, I had an issue with dehydration because it was so hot and I wasn't drinking enough water. I got to go to bed a little early.

Friday we decided to start work at 6:00 am. In order to "beat the heat" some, we're starting earlier and getting off work earlier so the guys can work longer when it's cooler. We're laying block and assembling the truck cage. Today is also the first day of March so we're allowed to "advertise" on the Facebook "Honduras expats" site. We've gotten most of our new contacts from this site (it's the only place we're advertising until we get the affiliation approved). Still praying for that part of the mission to take off.  Please pray for those items.

Friday evening we did get a couple of responses from the Expat page! Praise the Lord! As it turned out, a very promising lead was back in La Ceiba...and they were leaving for the states on Sunday, soooo. Up at 4:30, on the road at 5am heading back to La Ceiba. I think without much traffic it's a 5 hour drive, since we were early and on a Saturday it wasn't too bad. The problem lately has been road construction in El Progresso. This morning we were only stopped for a half hour. On the way home it was a 2.75 hour wait... oh my!

Ashley had made the trip with us, she'd never been to Tela or La Ceiba. We made a point to stop at the beach area for

both cities for a photo op.

The meeting on the remodel project was positive. The current owners had a sad story where the local contractor took off

with half the money and never finished the house. They're looking at finishing it. A lot of repairing to do as it wasn't done

correctly and a lot to finish. This could be good for both of us! Thank you Lord!

Sunday morning, didn't set an alarm today, woke up early anyway , Carlos, Patty and the girls are coming over this

afternoon. It's Carlos's birthday and Patty wanted to cook and spend the afternoon on the beach! It'll be a fun time! There

was a fishing tournament in Omoa yesterday. We weren't here until late in the day, even then there were still a lot of

people here! I found it interesting the variety of fish that placed in the tournament! First place was a 38# wahoo, second

place was a salmon, third place a tuna and fourth place a barracuda. We went for a few groceries this morning. The store

was packed! Almost no parking spaces, the lines inside were long, people everywhere! It is summer here now, we have

to expect there to be a lot more people here on the weekends.

We're heading back to the states in less than 3 weeks! It will be good to see the family and friends! We're scheduled to be

there for about a month. We have a lot of things to do, the time will pass way too quickly I'm sure!

We are so very thankful for you! Our church is going to have a ministry highlight day April 7th, we'll be there to talk about

the ministry, answer questions etc., in the morning and into the afternoon as well, possibly as late as 5:00 pm. Hope to

see you! And/or, email, message, call us, we'll be more than willing to share what is going on.

Blessings, John and Tammy
