Hi everyone! Hope all is well with you!
Thankful the rain held off until the team was gone. Sunday night it rained a lot again, and the water ran into the house! It came from the
backyard side this time, we don't have any controls over there yet, and it's the first time it's rained enough to notice. We spent a couple
of hours sweeping and mopping water! Today, Monday, we added some concrete to the "dike" by the gates so hopefully it won't happen
again, until we're able to control it properly!
We got the window in the bus fixed today! Beto unscrewed the frame and took it to a glass shop here in Omoa. They had glass in
it in a couple hours! Then we screwed it back in place! God is good! Ebert and Beto also started pouring a concrete floor in one of the
dormitory rooms today! That's exciting! Dany and Jrson are still laying block in La Ceiba.
We (Sindy, Ashley and me) went to La Entrada today, close to the Copan Ruins. We met with Pastor Steve and some of his family. They
have a lot of projects including a new church! We'll see what the Lord wants, this could be a lot of good, challenging work! Thank you, Steve, for meeting with us!
Today is Wednesday, a pretty day here in Honduras. There hasn't been much breeze, it's a little warm, in the low 90's and humid! The
guys in La Ceiba are laying block, we're pouring concrete here in Omoa. I'm working on paperwork. Everyone is busy! I've been running
Gabriel to and from school today, helps me get out of my chair some.
Happy Saturday! We needed more block and cement in La Ceiba this week which means we're half done with the block laying! Next
week we're going to move the water tank, paint the outside of the house, install new bathroom fixtures in 3 of the bedrooms. A full
week scheduled! I sent pastor Steve 4 different layouts for his new church this morning. Hopefully he likes one of them enough to
start talking about a final layout. If not, we still have a starting point, what he doesn't want! And, we have a floor in one of our
dormitory rooms in Omoa!
Sunday morning and Tammy and I were up early, left at 5:30 am to go pick up Ashley and Elizabeth at a women's retreat that was
held at Castillo del Rey (King's Castle) in Zambrano, which is almost to Tegucigalpa the capital. This was the first time we'd gone
that far without a Honduran with us! 1) I felt it was pretty safe because the drive was all on the main road and basically a straight
shot and 2) I wanted to give Sindy the day off to spend with her family! She has been so very faithful and goes with us wherever
we need/want to go! Thank you, Sindy! (We just got back to Omoa, 8:00 pm... a long day!) Once we got to Zambrano, we met a few other
missionaries and saw a few friends that we haven't seen for a while! A nice trip! And, really not a surprise, we went for 2 and picked
up 9 women! So that was fun! Really, it was a good time. We dropped them off in Cofradia and in Ocotillo! Saving them countless
hours on the public bus system, changing buses at least 3 times, dragging all of their luggage around... they were tickled to set in
the back of the pickup. They laughed and sang songs almost the whole drive home! What a blessing!
Well, I'm tired and we're leaving for La Ceiba tomorrow morning at 5:00 am so I'm going to say goodnight.
Thankful for God's provision, His love and understanding, His mercy and grace, and for the Holy Spirit who guides us for Him!
Blessings to you all! Much love, John and Tammy
