January Highlights

Jan 4

I know I've said this many times but... time goes so very fast, and the older I get, the faster it goes! So very thankful for the promise of eternal life that comes from giving our lives to Jesus! Hallelujah!

The crew was split yesterday, Victor, Gustavo and Antony were in Quimistan working on Roxanne's house while Beto, Sindy and Denis were taking care of some maintenance items at Sunset Playa. Greg was very pleased with their work, their knowledge and work ethic! Praise Jesus! Today, they are going to Quimistan to help on the house.

I was able to talk with Darrell, a missionary in Marcala, La Plaz. (hi Darrell) He is wanting to build a house and we're talking to him about the possibility of us being his contractor! Hallelujah! He is clearing the jungle from the build site now, which will take a month, then he will landscape it and prepare for the pad for the house! We will go and meet with him towards the end of February.  And we are going to meet with Corey in Olanchito. He has a couple of options, repair his existing house or possibly making a house with a couple of containers. Right up our alley!

We have our tickets for our return to Honduras, January 24 was the best price.

Some highlights of the 2025 are: we had 14 baptisms at our place, had 2 mission teams, did projects for 11 new customers, visited 6 countries, started building a house for a grandmother, made the last payment on our bus, have several new appointments set up for 2026, surprised our grandson on his mission trip in El Salvador, got to go for a boat ride in a volcano crater, started first steps in expanding to Panama, got to support 3 Hondurans take their first airplane flight, and, got to meet so many very good people! And that's all I can recall in a few minutes! We had a very good year, glorifying God in all we did! Amen! Thank you for your prayers and support!

Jan 11

Sunday, we went to CUCC church. They are going on another mission trip this year and we are close to establishing their dates. I think all that went last year are going again plus 3 or 4 new people! Amen! Love God, love others!! Wednesday night we're presenting at another local church. Proverbs 16:9, man makes plans, God guides our steps! It is His timing!

It is Tuesday evening, the week has been pretty uneventful so far. Victor and part of the crew are in Quimistan, Beto and Sindy worked at Sunset Playa for a while yesterday. They are all together now, working in Quimistan.

Our meeting with Fulton Creek Friends Church went well Wednesday evening. They were attentive and asked a lot of questions. They also have one of their own, Mr. Ed has started his own agronomy mission in Belize! Some of what he does, Ed is helping the local villages by planting cacao(chocolate) and mahogany trees to supplement their income. I am hoping to learn more about his ministry and to see if someday we can incorporate it in the countries we are supporting.

I've been talking with one of the gentlemen from Fulton Creek Church. Dave has been on mission trips and has some experience with an audio Bible. He is going to furnish us with 3 of them to use when we encounter people who can't read, Hallelujah! Thank you so very much Mr. Dave!

Jan 18th

Today is Thursday, it is the morning after we drove to Iowa to visit family and friends. What a journey yesterday!

The crew is working away on Roxanne's house, some of the steel for the roof was delivered today, that is exciting. I think the crew has planned to work all weekend.

Next week we have a couple of meetings, deciding on the date for the CUCC trip, possibly a board meeting, one with Mr. Dave regarding the audio Bibles, and whatever else God sets for us! And on Saturday we head back to Honduras, where today it was 87 degrees! After being very cold today, I'm ready for the warm weather!

Jan 25

Hi there! Praying that you are all doing well! It is Wednesday, today we are meeting with as many of the CUCC team as possible. Probably for pizza, lol, and Nikki is coming up from Cincinnati to join us. Then to church afterward. We have also been talking with Hannah with the chiropractic team in April and are starting to get some names for the trip! I've started with the itinerary, it is going to be fun and rewarding!

I may finally have some more information for Najae's house project. The original owner, and the architect he is working with, is saying "pay under the table". That has so very many things wrong with it, and it's accepted and part of the culture... we have a lot of praying to do! It turns out the original house was built that way, with bribes. And that is why the city has no record of it. There is no guarantee the inspectors won't ask for more money in the future. There is also no guarantee the city won't make us tear down the house because there isn't any permits period.

We have settled on a date for the CUCC team trip, Thursday June 18 to Thursday June 25. They have some new people going, always exciting! And now I can start working on an itinerary for them as well! Another item for your prayer list!

Beto and Sindy have gone to Roma tonight, to be ready to pick the team up early in the morning from GiveHope2Kids. They delivered them from the airport on the 17th and are returning them tomorrow. Which works out well for us as they will be at the airport and can just pick us up! They may run into weather too as they return to USA. Praying for them.

Saturday evening and we have made it safely to Honduras! None of the snow and ice warnings seemed to affect us, praise the Lord!

After we arrived in San Pedro Sula, Sindy informed us that the serpentine belt on the bus had broken. They were waiting for the new one to arrive. After an hour or so waiting, the belt arrived via Uber and Beto installed it very quickly! Good job Beto!

Beto and Sindy are leaving for Siguatepegue this morning with the bus to pick up a group and take them to Zambrano, to Word of Life resort for a retreat. Then next Friday a return trip. Thank you, Brenda, for the work! We are meeting this afternoon with Tiffany, who is running a mission at the landfill here in Omoa. Nikki had a customer give her 30 plus bags of school supplies that we brought down with us and are giving them to her to distribute. Tammy also packed a lot of clothes that people have donated so far for the hospital here, thank you so very much for your gift of love!

Along with the school supplies and clothes we brought, we brought a "rack and pinion" assembly for our F150. Car parts like that are hard to find here and if you do find them the cost is exorbitant!

God Bless, John and Tammy
