Hi everyone! Half of the year is over already! My how time flies!
Back to work after a long weekend to rest up from last week's mission team! A lot of fun, a lot of humbling experiences, all
thanks to the blessings of our Lord!
Tammy, Jerry and I only have two weeks left here before we head back to USA for a while. In those 2 weeks I have to make sure we have materials, that the walls on the second floor are laid out so when we're gone the crew can keep working and being productive! A lot to do! And, to have back up plans in case things don't go as planned.
The water filling project over the weekend worked well...until an outside line sprung a leak last night and drained the tank that was almost
full like I'd hoped and planned for... oh well, if it was easy anyone could do it! We found a guy with a water truck that comes around
filling tanks, he filled us up, showers for everyone!
This week we poured the concrete for the pad for the water tanks, working on the plumbing for the children's bathroom upstairs, finished the carport beam and the kitchen beam, two doors and jambs refinished and installed, a third door jamb installed, the surprise project finished, the water working like I thought it would , a new water line ran along one side of the house for a spigot near the carport, purchased the airline tickets for the chiropractic team in August, and tomorrow, Friday, on the way back to Omoa we're stopping to meet a potential customer! God is good!
We ventured out to find "Village of Hope", near where we are in La Ceiba, in a colony called Sambo Creek. In the process of finding their compound, we came across a bunch of ostriches running around! Yes, they were in a fenced in area, but just running loose, that was very cool!
I continue to have conversations with a pastor in India. He is so excited about the possibility of us coming there to train some people in
construction. He also wants me to teach a few classes to preachers and others... that's outside my comfort zone, but the place here God helps us grow the most... heavy sigh... lol God will lead my steps...
We stopped in Guaymitas, about halfway between El Progresso and Tela to meet Melody and Jacob, a couple from New York who
have been in Honduras full time for 14 years! They operate a children's home and have 27 kids that they house and care for! What a
busy couple! They have a couple of small construction projects however their window to get them done is the same window when we'll
be in USA. It may not work out this time for the construction, we did meet a neat couple with their focus on God! One of the neat things
that came of our meeting was their building. It is a large 3 story building with the top floor being incased with screens, making it look like
there's a soccer field or something on the top...Tammy has been wanting to go inside this building for weeks, we see it twice on week
on our way to and from La Ceiba. Frosting on the cake , she was able to tour the building!
Back in Omoa, working on paperwork, Ashley is painting the logo on the other side of the truck, this one in Español, "Sus manos construccion"! Planning the itinerary for the chiro team; that involves coordinating with all of the stops where we are going to adjust, have
a backup plan if they're busy, when do we leave, where are we eating, where are we sleeping, etc.
Speaking of logos, we're going to have to remove the logo that is on the bus now and put ours on it. I think for this logo we're going to
need to get Nicki and Bullseye Printing involved, with some decals. Those are going to be some big decals! A lot of work putting those
on! We'll have to decide exactly what we want and where.
I think we're going to have a spit team this week, part of the crew in La Ceiba and part of the crew working here in Omoa. That'll be
interesting! We are at a stage in La Ceiba where the plumbing/electrical crew of Ebert and Beto don't have much to do. It'll be more
practical for them to work in Omoa until we get the walls on the second floor done.
Eleven days until we head back to Ohio, a very lot to do! The time will go fast! And the month we're back in USA will go even faster!
We're thankful for all of you, praying you have a blessed week, and that every day is a day closer to Jesus!
Blessings, John and Tammy
