Hi there everyone! Since we're coming back to USA in a couple days, I hope it's still a little warm, so we can cool down gradually,
Today is Monday, the power company is working on some lines near the center of town, as a result, we were without electricity
yesterday for 6 hours and the same today. I hope they have it fixed! I don't like doing paperwork and sweating, the papers all get
wet and sticky, it's just not fun. The guy's got the bus back together today and ran the bus, the new fuel tank is working! Since it's a
holiday week Antony and Natalia are here for a couple of days, no school. They love the beach! Antony is mowing the grass and Natalia is swimming. They are good kids, Sindy and Beto have done a great job with them! We're going to make a trip to La Ceiba
tomorrow. Probably bring Dany and Jrson back for the holiday weekend.
Last night after church, we met a guy who was in Omoa attending the cruise ship school. He is from Guatemala and has a passion
for God. He had been talking with Ebert about some temporary work. His classes had been extended for a week and needed some
money to pay for his hotel room. As we talked, we had the opportunity to talk about him possibly helping us next year if we were to
expand into Guatemala. He was interested and had some comments to share about the poverty and the lack of empathy in his
country, the gangs and how it's not improving, that they need the education and the jobs that possibly could come from our presence
there. After we were done talking, he wanted to pray for us and the possible future relationship. Praise the Lord for going before us!
Tuesday, I decided to go to La Ceiba, I wanted to see the progress and since the rest of the week is a holiday, I wanted to pick
up Dany and Jrson so they didn't have to ride the buses. As a result, we did meet with Tim again (from Chicago, looking at replacing
their roof) and picked up another job! Their pool is leaking, and he wants us to find and repair the leak, even if we have to tear out all
of the tile in the pool! There's some work!! Praise the Lord! It was a long day, we left at 5 am and got back home around 7:45 pm! And
worth the trip! Oh, and by the way, Tim and Nan are going back to the states next week on the same flight that we are on! What a
coincidence! Or is this divine intervention! Thank you, Jesus!
Today is Friday, we headed out early to go see Les and Cele, missionaries in El Plan. They have several items that need taken
care of, sounds like we may be helping them! We had a nice visit; they had a local church lady cook us a delicious lunch! While we were there visiting, they had mentioned their translator a couple times. I didn't pay much attention to the "name" of their translator... then he showed up, Freddy, we had met in church in Omoa a while back! Freddy had also been in Omoa going to the cruise ship school. We had a nice little "it's a small world" reunion! Fun stuff! Thank you for relationships Lord!
We are coming back to Ohio Tuesday, bringing Julissa with us, she's going to be spending 3 weeks with Jeff and Patti. What a fun
trip for her!! Monday we may be heading back to La Ceiba, the crew needs a set of scaffolding. A lot of driving. It also saves a whole
lot of time for Dany and Jrson on the public bus system. As time here winds down, there is a lot of things to check, double check, to be sure the things we forget we can handle from Ohio, lol.
Since it's the holiday week, there are people everywhere! Swimming, boating, banana boats, jet skis! Everyone having a good
time on the beach! The most boats I counted this afternoon was 46! Most of them were just floating out there fishing. Ebert sent a
picture last night, about a 5 foot baby shark he caught while fishing!
Today is Sunday, the power has been off a couple of times already this morning, makes it difficult to do some things, and no a/c.
I'm finishing the update, working on quotes, Tammy is cleaning. We have been by ourselves since Friday when we took Ashley to
her apartment. It seems really quiet with no one here. Sometimes that is nice though. Gives us some alone time to relax, pray, do
whatever we want.
We are thankful for you all! We are hoping we get to see most of you when we're back this fall! Praying for a safe trip this Tuesday!
Blessings, John and Tammy
