We met with a lawyer in San Pedro Sula. The lawyer was representing us and the seller.
The seller is nervous about signing the house over to us without payment. The payment is sent via wire transfer from the US and takes a week or so. We are nervous about sending payment before papers are signed. The lawyer suggested that we could trust the seller because she has known him and his family for years. We decided that we can trust our friends who set all this up and our friends trust the lawyer, and ultimately we trust God who brought us here in the first place.
During a very heated phone conversation between the lawyer and the seller. It's in Spanish so we have no idea what's being said, but we hear the seller saying NO a lot. John and I held hands and prayed silently. Our friends that came to the office with us were making sure there was an equal amount of leverage on both sides (in Spanish). The lawyer hangs up the phone and says "he said you have a house". I look down at my phone and a friend from the US texted me "I am praying for your trip".
It was decided that John would send an email then to complete the transaction process (he started before we left the US). When the seller gets the email that the money is on the way we can have the key. Then when the money is actually in his account we will all meet again and sign the proper paperwork.
I am becoming convinced that every little conversation we have counts because every little moment leads you to God's big plan.
