Things I need to get use to while living in Honduras.

>Doing laundry around the weather. We have a large outdoor concrete sink for hand washing clothes. Then we hang clothes on a line so we wait for a sunny days, which is most days here.

>Slowing down and enjoying a visit from a neighbor. We must always be ready for a visit, not just a simple hello.

>Honking your horn as a courtesy. Since most cars have all the windows tinted people can't see if you are waving them through, so we honk as an indicator.

>Critters in my house. When you live in the tropics you should expect a lot of bugs. You also need to look into dark places before reaching in to get something.

>Random people walking by you in a restaurant and saying "enjoy your meal." It's a thing here.

>Eggs for dinner. I'm all for breakfast for dinner, but when you tell me a scrambled egg meal is only for dinner I'll have questions.

>Being bitten. Mosquitos are annoying because they always find that one spot that you missed when put on bug spray. But, fire ants are a special kind of bite. I am going to be on a mission to eradicate them from the places where I have to stand.

>The sound of coconuts falling from the tree. It can be scary if you are not use to it.

>Sand on my floor. Beach life😎🏖

>Smiling faces. The people here a very welcoming!

>Never buy Tortillas at the grocery. This is the one food rule I must always obey.

>People walking around with machetes...taming the jungle. It takes some getting use to.

>Never truly know how long it's going to take to get somewhere. Traffic is very unpredictable. I think that is where the phrase "Honduras time" comes from.
