Hi everyone!
It is Sunday afternoon now, so much has happened since this morning after I'd sent out the update, lol. On the way to church we were pulled over by the police. This guy actually knew how to read English it appears because he noticed that my driver's license had
expired last month on my birthday. I had contacted daughter-in-law Hannah in Ohio to help with the online renewal. Which doesn't
mean anything to them here as they are not hooked in with any USA information. In the process of negotiation, Jose who was
translating for us, convinced the policeman that since we were missionaries on our way to church and since it was Sunday,
he shouldn't give us a ticket. He agreed, however, Tammy had to drive. She was nervous! Everything worked out, I started
driving again after church. No problem, lol.

We (Tammy, Jose and me), just spent 3 hours discussing Panama, what the opportunities are there, what some of the
problems might be, budget needs, mission trip possibilities, legal business requirements, construction opportunities, worker
availability, etc. It was a good conversation. Jose is going to put together some budget numbers, some supporter names
and contact information in the USA for us to understand exactly what kind of money we need to raise in order to go there.
Please be praying for the next steps with this. We are putting together a plan of action which will include church planting,
medical brigades, mission trips, construction crews, etc. We are also planning on using Jose's gifts to come to Honduras
and help with church planting here too. Praise Jesus!
Happy Thursday morning! We, Beto, Sindy and us, are in Omoa. We got here last evening. Today we have to get the bus
ready for a pickup at the airport Saturday for the "Give Hope 2 Kids" mission team that is coming. We have to renew the
registration, get the front air conditioner fixed and make sure the batteries are charged and ready to go! The sump pump
isn't working so Beto will figure that out too. The crew is working hard in Quimistan, they just about have all of the block laid for the foundation. Next is pouring a concrete "ring", tying everything together (seismic requirement), then bringing in some fill to bring the base for the floors up to grade level. Beto put the solar camera in a different tree, and I really like the new location! It allows me to see some of the materials and the area where they are mixing concrete and building the rebar cages, etc. We needed a new fan and some air conditioning freon for the bus, we went to Puerto Cortes and bought some (the repairman is close to there). Then after 5, it was decided the other a/c unit (there's two on the bus) needed both fans replaced, we went to the store first thing Friday morning and bought two more fans. Then...we went and helped Emelio pull his car to the mechanic's shop. Felix spent 5+ years working around Kansas City as a mechanic and knows English pretty well! Felix may also have some construction work for us; we're going to go look and give him a quote this Sunday after church. There is also a smell coming from the a/c vents on the pickup, and occasionally it doesn't act like its cooling...Felix tested it and it sounds like the evaporator coil for the a/c is going bad. He will have to pull the front dash out completely to change that. We may wait until after we leave for USA which is next Thursday. He needs 3 days, 2 for sure and 1 in case of unforeseen problems.
Its Saturday morning and the team from "Give Hope 2 Kids", coming from Atlanta today had their flight cancelled. Their arrival is
now tomorrow. We have to keep an eye on the weather as well as listening to the government shutdown and its effects on flights! They were flying Delta and now they're flying United, I don't know what that means, other than that happened to us once and it was the weather in Atlanta and/or the weather where the incoming plane was from. We are flying Delta too.
Today being the first of the month, we are allowed to advertise on Honduras Expats and Missionaries in Honduras, facebook pages
where we have been getting our leads. We have another request this morning and we are waiting on decisions on a couple of quotes we have out. We have a lead on a couple of projects for next year already, momentum is a good thing! Thank you, Jesus! The more work,
the more people we can help!
One thing I wanted to mention is that our expansion into Panama will NOT affect what we are doing here in Honduras! We have
discussed this in length and we are confident that we are ready to expand without any negative effect here! If we thought it would
affect us here, we would wait. We also feel that God is leading us to Panama, and as a result, God will help us through any
transition pains we may have! Romans 8:31 "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?" Amen!
Happy Sunday morning! As we all prepare to worship the same God, here and everywhere in the world, remember the term
"worship"! We are to worship Him all day every day, that is our purpose, love God, love others...it can be that simple!
Blessings, John and Tammy
