Weekly Update July 14th

Hi everyone! Praying that you have been blessed this week! We sure have!

We have had some rain this week in La Ceiba! It has been greatly needed! We're preparing for the crew to work without us , I

know right! We have been working towards this moment for a year so maybe it's time. It's one thing when we leave them to work

on our stuff, a completely different thing when it's someone else's property! I'm convinced that they will be fine! If there's questions or

instructions, with today's communication avenues, we should be able to communicate quickly and accurately!

I am still working on the chiropractic teams' itinerary, coordinating with all of the stops for adjustments, eating 3 meals a day while

traveling, where we're staying, etc. If one stop doesn't work out, then changing things so that things work as smooth as possible. I'm

waiting on a couple confirmations.

Today is Wednesday, we started to lay block on the second floor. We'll see how many walls we get started before tomorrow night.

Tuesday evenings, we've been going to a local church in La Ceiba, EL Faro (the lighthouse), some friends, Rueben and Kristal, are the senior pastor and his wife. I've included a picture of their baptistry, paintings of the mountains on each side, and the rock outcropping is the baptistry, very cool!

I am still in contact with the pastor in India. Vijaya sends me updates on his ministry 4-5 days a week. They are baptizing people

almost every day! Praise the Lord! People all over the world, praising the same, one true God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Pray

for them.

Thursday morning, our last morning here in La Ceiba for a while. A lot going on! I spent over an hour this morning chatting with a

fellow missionary who is running a farm and is teaching construction to the nationals just like we are. At some point we'll need to

get together and share our God stories! He is located near Santa Barbara, near Lake Yojo...which is probably 3-4 hours south of

Omoa.

OH MY! I wish you guys could all be with us on this journey!! Tammy started talking to a guy on Honduras Missionaries (face book) back in April, she was wanting to know about the sausage, cheese, etc. that his ministry produces and sells. 3 months later, a few days ago, he contacted Tammy again, out of the blue, about their sales and they started talking. There are so many stories here...wow... to make a long story short, and just share a couple here, we did stop yesterday (Friday) to meet him. Well, google maps put us in the middle of a sugar cane plantation, dirt roads, mud and mud puddles, we thought we could see a church up on the side of the mountain but couldn't figure out how to get there... there were some guys driving around on motorcycles, we stopped a couple and asked directions...after we got to a spot where there was some farm equipment, buildings and some people milling about doing whatever their chores were, Tammy was able to get Brent on the phone, we told him where we were, he told us to stay put and he'd be there in 5 minutes. He found us quickly, followed him to his ranch area and took a quick tour. Now Brent has a lot of stories about how God has gone before them time and time again. One I want to share with you will raise the hair on your arms, neck, eyes wide open, mouth agape... etc. When they first came to the 300-acre ranch, he brought his mother and 3 other ladies from church in Tennessee down to pray over the site, pray for Jesus to be the main focus in everything they were doing, which was showing Jesus through agriculture. He had to run to the lawyers in San Pedro Sula, his mom says don't worry we're just going to pray, pray, pray! So, he leaves them, with a little anxiety and heads to town. A half hour later he gets a phone call from a local that he knew who kind of watched over the area, telling him he needed to come back immediately! That there were dead people everywhere! He's like "WHAT"?? Yes, dead people everywhere, you need to come back now! So, he calls his mom and asks what is going on, she's like nothing...we're just praying around the ranch... he calls the local guy back who still insists there's dead people and he needs to return now... so he turns around an goes back to the ranch. As it turns out, the site was an ancient Mayan location where they performed a lot of rituals (I'm assuming sacrifices), the local guy was an enforcer for the gang MS13! WHAT! ...there were 4 guards stationed around the mountain and the ranch keeping an eye on things, they were the ones who reported the dead bodies... understand, the MS13 lookouts never leave their posts, if they do, they die, and their families die. Two of the 4 lookouts left their posts, never to be seen again, the other two to this day don't talk. According to the enforcer, they watched a battle between a bunch of people dressed in black, fighting a bunch of people dressed in white, the people dressed in black were the ones who were dying all over the place... the obvious deduction for Christ followers is there was a battle between good and evil taking place on the ranch because the ladies were praying for Jesus to take over the area, make His presence known, bless the property for what was coming in the future with the missionaries... I get goose bumps just thinking about that! THE POWER OF PRAYER!!  Anyway, the locals (MS13) know that the ranch is GOD'S RANCH, that He is there... they leave it alone and watch over it... which brings us back to us... Brent knew we were in the cane fields looking for his ranch because the guys on the motorcycles (MS13 members) had called him asking if he was expecting a white pickup with big hands on the side of it... he didn't know what we were driving but knew we were coming so he said yes, and they had left us alone! Wow, God protected us big time there! A little more to the story, In the beginning, the ranch was overgrown with the jungle, they started clearing and found a church in the middle of the ranch! They have cleaned it up, finished the roof, paint, etc. and now use it constantly. The gang members won't go in the church but will stand outside to listen... praise the Lord! The enforcer, (don't remember his name, sorry) has enrolled his son in the Christian academy that they have... a powerful, powerful testimony to the glory of Jesus and the impact that He can have on people and a culture! There are more stories from Brent, what a blessing God continues to grace us with. Being an Iowa farm boy, this makes me want to jump in and do some of the same things Brent has done. God's timing, God's plan (not what He has me here to do) ... there is so much to do and so little time, and the time... is now!! If you need Jesus and don't have Him, let us know and we'd be happy to talk to you about Him!

Check Brent's mission out at: wellspringhonduras.org They have dairy cows, beef cows, pigs, sheep, goats, rodeos, weld shops, school, hay fields, everything!

What a blessing! Passing blessings on to you all! Oh... almost forgot with all of the excitement going on... back in the states on Tuesday!

Praying for you! John and Tammy
